The dog was hopping along on three legs. He was also crying softly and holding up a front paw. He was sad because he was in pain and hurting a lot.
2. Trusting p. 35 para 6
Watch walks right up to the children and shows them his hurt paw. He has never seen these children before and he trusts them. He lets Jessie pull a big thorn out of his paw.
3. Thankful p. 35 para 7
Watch
stopped crying and smiled at Jessie. He was glad that she had removed
the thorn so his paw would stop hurting. He began to like the boxcar
children.
Character's Goal:
Watch's goal is to become
friends with the boxcar children and live with them.
Problem:
Watch's problem is he has
a big thorn stuck in his paw and he cannot get it out.
Solution:
Jessie pulls the thorn out
and bandages his paw up.
